  • Permanent Pet EQUIPS in Reboot

Note: This isn't a thread asking for better access to perm Pets in Reboot.

Pets can be extended with Premium Water of Life, so while we're only able to (directly) purchase the 90-day variety in Reboot, we're able to extend them for as long as we like.

The issue is with the Equips that go with them, they only come in the 90-day variety. After the 90-day's are up, Reboot has no way to get more of the Pet Equips for our Pets until the Pet is readded to the CS. This is fine for the Pets that are permanently in the CS, since their Equips are there too, but the limited Pets every few weeks aren't so lucky.

I rarely see people in Reboot using Pet Equips, I believe that's most of the reason.

I would propose either adding the Equips permanently to the CS with each set of Pets every few weeks or selling a Permanent version of the 90-day Equips with each rotation (possibly for double, which seems to be the normal increase for perm varieties).

Some of the 90-day pets I maintain have adorable Equips I would have liked to buy, but didn't for the above reason.

  • Reconsider the In-game name Cooldown

    Arwoo wrote: »
The introduction of the name cooldown surprised us as well and because of this, it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes.
First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for this oversight and now it comes down to us and the community delivering feedback in regards to this cooldown.

From reading through the posts in this thread, I can see that Maplers hate it.
However, it was informed that this system was introduced to discourage individuals from mass storing names to either sell or prevent others from using.

It's a given that everyone wants the best names to themselves, but do you guys feel that this may help the overall fairness of name distribution? Or is it preferred to retain the first come first server name save basis?

Not letting us use our own names on our accounts is a different issue though, when we delete a character on our accounts we should be able to reuse the name on that same account. The cooldown to use a name on a different account doesn't bother me personally, it's not being able to use my own saved name on my own account that's so frustrating.

People don't always save "rare" names either. For example, I use the other servers to save Daxi<#>, so I can get my 250's in number order. With this update I've been unable to name my next 250 Daxi<#>, I believe I have more claim to Daxi6 (for example) then anyone else and I don't think I should have to compete with other people for the name I've already saved. :(

My ticket reply about the issue for those interested:
    Hello Daxi,

Thank you for contacting Nexon America Support.

I understand how frustrating it is since you are unable to use the name you reserved. Our game team is currently looking into this report and they are doing their best to find the cause of it to be able to fix this circumstance. Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated. Thank you for understanding.

If you'll have other concerns you can always contact us again and we'll be more than willing to help you.
    Sincerely,

    GM Qilltana

  • why there isnt reboot in ems servers?

Honestly I just don't think there's the population for it.

An EU Reboot would be comprised of those from Europe who currently play NA Reboot and are willing to completely restart and those in Luna who would be willing to drop Luna in favor of the new server. I'm not convinced there's enough people to warrant a new server based on that.

I know many of us who play NA Reboot from Europe would not be willing to restart on a EU Reboot server, we would sooner remain on the more populated server we've already put so much effort into.

I also think Nexon would have considered not just initial interest, but the cost of maintaining the server once the hype has died down and those who currently play Luna go back to Luna and those who have already put a lot of effort into NA Reboot go back to NA Reboot.

  • SOLUTIONS to reduce hackers

    Roni777 wrote: »
They (Hackers) probably can still hack, but after few minutes they have to turn the quest in to get the mesos. So they can't just leave the computer 24 hours a day farming billions mesos like what is happening right now.

Bots already have the ability to automatically move to a map and accept a new quests, then complete the quest. They are able to move to (and kill on) different maps depending on what quest they were given. That functionality already exists for the cheaters, your proposed system would be simple for cheaters to automate.

They currently read the data that exists in the client and is kept client sided in order to determine what quest they have been given. The information is stored client sided and Nexon would not be able to "hide" it from hackers without also hiding it from legitimate players (as in no one would have any idea what quest they are on).

For example, a quest called "example quest 1" to kill 500 Pigs (quest ID: 1) is different to "example quest 2" to kill 500 Slimes (quest ID: 2). The hack clients are already able to read that the quest log is telling them to kill 500 Pigs and are able to react accordingly. Currently they just read the quest ID, but even if Nexon could somehow hide the quest ID (which wouldn't be easy to do) the hackers would be able to automatically read the actual quest name/log and what it's telling them to do and still automatically complete it even without the quest ID. There would be no way to hide this from the hackers without also hiding it from everyone else.

Your suggestion would not stop cheaters at all, all it would do is slow them down for the few days it takes them to automate the process. A few days (if that) without hackers making mesos is not worth permanently hindering legitimate players to the point where many people (myself included) wouldn't even play anymore.

Literally everyone so far has been against your suggestion, you might not consider forcing people to party together in order to get optimal mesos/xp punishing but the vast majority of legitimate players will.
