Region selection settings?

I thought it was supposed to be remembered so we don't have to pick NA or Europe each time?
Or is it only if you play through the Nexon launcher?
(I use Steam)

    I think there's a semi mistake on the Maplestory quitting coding. So in game, you click "select character" -> character select -> esc/quit -> WORLD select -> quit -> goes back to REGION -> quit -> exit games. So technically, game remembers you as never picking a region. (At least that's how it was for me when I logged off yesterday after maintenance.)
    What it should be something like at WORLD select, there's suppose to be a region select button and the quit button should close the client.|

    EDIT: So when I just logged out, instead of clicking "quit game" at WORLD select, game asked if I'm ready to quit and exited normally. Will post if region is retained next time I log.

    Nope, still had to select region.

    No, the patch notes stated for region.
    Anyway, it seems to have finally registered my chosen region. Woo~

    Hello,

    I'm aware it's a very old discussion here.
    For the note:
    "Your Region Selection settings are remembered by the client so that you do not have to select a region every time you log in."
    For technical solution regarding this or for those who wishes to know where it is exactly stored (as of today) and set it manually,
    You have to go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Wizet\MapleStory\l_00000000" in registry
    and its setting key is called "GateWay".
    Supported values (DWord Value):
    "0" for NA (North America region)
    "1" for EU (Europe region)
