Closed Look of the Month - August
Greetings, Maplers!
It's time for another Look of the Month contest! We will be looking for the best outfits, costumes, and flair from each of your in-game characters!
Here's what we are looking for in specific:
A picture of your character dressed in your favorite MapleStory outfit. This can be your training gear, outfits from events, clothes from the Cash Shop, anything! We prefer the picture of your character be taken this month. After all, this is the Look of the Month contest.
Creativity based around the time of the year is something we consider as well. In months that have the possibility of themes (like October with Halloween and December with Christmas, for example) we may pick two winners if we see multiple entries in both categories.
Participants should write a short description of what your character is wearing and what sort of look you're going for.
Make sure to include your IGN and World.

Rules:
- Look of the Month Contest August - Official Rules
- No multiple submissions
- No plagiarism
- No inappropriate content (Definition of inappropriate is left up to the decision of the judges)
- The use of sites such as BannedStory to simulate environments and character outfits is NOT permitted.
- Entries must be submitted within the submission time limit which will run from the time of this post to August 25th, 2017 at 12 PM / Noon (Pacific Time).
- Any breach of these rules is grounds for disqualification
- All decisions of the judges are final
- Players that have been banned in the game are not allowed to win this contest.
How do we decide the winner?
We have
three elements that go into judging:
- Originality: Is your outfit unique, or common? Is it yours, or is it everyone else's too?
- Trendy: Is your outfit hip or lame?
- Theme: Why does your outfit work? Does each piece of equipment have a "why" behind it, or is it cobbled together randomly?
Prizes:
- Look of the Month winner will receive 35,000 Maple Points
- Three (3) Runner Ups will receive 10,000 Maple Points
The winner will have their character spotlighted on the MapleStory Forums for the month following the event.
The winner will be chosen no later than
August 25th, 2017 at 11:59:59 PM Pacific Time. The Maple Points prize will be distributed within the coming week after the announcement.
For the month of August we will have 1 primary winner chosen:
- Your character in their favorite MapleStory outfit!

What look you're going for (theme): The theme I was going for was a school girl. This outfit was inspired by an anime called Toradora, as their school uniforms consisted of red blazer and blue skirt. I decided to use a polaroid because in real life I like taking pictures, especially my food. Hence, the map I chose is in front of a restaurant.

With a trusty backpack filled with snacks and cool beverages to keep you hydrated and energized in the relentless summer heat, it's off to the nearest amusement park with you. One of my go-to looks. Girly and flowery, this pink and green outfit shows the inner fairytale-lover in me.
The attack effect on the weapon is so pretty but I can't attack without transforming, so notice in the image below, the ears are normal and there is no Dollish Pink.

I've been getting compliment on this look so I decided to submit this as "Homeless" theme. It's interesting to see many different colorful/cheery styles that are shown in this contest, but sometimes even the simplest look could be very fashionable. This 'hobo' look can be just as cool and inspiring. Something as simple as a cardboard box with a Tin Buckett as a hat can look surprisingly stylish.

Hatsune Miku cosplay!
somea lot of rambling:I've wanted to enter this outfit for a while, but I haven't been able to until recently because I felt that the hair I originally had didn't match very well. I had been waiting and waiting for the Going to School in the Morning hair to be released, and last month, it finally was! I royaled as soon as I could, and to my delight, it only took two attempts for me to get the hair that I wanted. However, I felt that the color was a bit off, so I mix-dyed it right away. I ~believe~ that the color is 30/70 with blue being the base color and green being the secondary color, if anyone is interested.
ABOUT THE ENTRY DATE
As for why I chose to enter this month rather than last month, when the hair was released, is because this month is the 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku! I'd have liked to post my entry on August 31, the day that Hatsune Miku was released 10 years ago, but unfortunately that won't be possible since the contest closes before then.
ABOUT THE BACKGROUND
The background is meant to mimic the animation of a song created to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku.

ABOUT LEEKU
Leeku is a character I made specifically to cosplay as Hatsune Miku. The name is a combination of "Miku" and "Leek," derived from the leekspin that Miku is famous for. You can also see that I chose to use the "Musical Green Onion" as a weapon for this reason.
ABOUT THE OVERALL
I'm actually
a little bitsuper heartbroken about giving my Rosemary Tea to this character, because it's my favorite overall in the game. I can't get another one because it's been so long since they've been in the premium surprise style boxes last...Anyways, storytime!
I was
complainingtalking to some friends on skype about how much I wanted a Rosemary Tea, using my iPod (apparently everyone has iPhones now) on the second floor of my house, when one of my friends tells me that he saw one for 200m in the free market room that I was AFK in, but I didn't have enough mesos for it, so I asked him to lend me some before I ran down the stairs to where my computer was on the first floor to buy the item. Turns out I had sold a couple things while I was AFK, and so I had the 200m to buy the dress. I successfully bought the dress, but my hands were shaking out of excitement so I couldn't type properly. Seconds later, someone else comes into the the store, who had also been looking to buy it. Then again! Another person pops in a few seconds afterward who had ALSO been looking to buy it! To think that if I had been the slightest bit slower, I never would have been able to buy the dress. If it had been in a different FM room, or if I had to borrow mesos from my friend, I would have been too slow to get it.For anyone who doesn't know prices, 200m is VERY cheap for that overall. It was worth at least 10x the price it sold for then, and likely 100x the price it sold for now.
ABOUT THE SHOES
I seriously love these shoes. And all it's variants. I have 3 of the black ones, one pink striped, one blue striped, one black striped, and countless white ones. I need more. MORE, I TELL YOU.
