After looking around i noticed A LOT of ppl pooping on mercedes pretty strongly making her out to be the "worst character of the game"

but all that stuff was old-ish.. sooo...
does she still suck? and in words a complete nub to this game can understand please explain (with realistic and logical reasons )
why and how does she suck?

(also how good/ bad is Hayato and kanna) ill mostly be playing alone most of the time so kinda trying to figure out what may work out with out screwing my self endgame

    Mercedes has improved a lot compared a year or two ago, but she still need quite some funding before you can see the damage difference. With a few good items, she's pretty badass. Although when comparing her to other Archer classes like WA, she's still out-damaged. ^^"

    She is squishy but not weak.
    People overreact .
    Even though other classes outdamage, she still does very good damage.
    She just starts to shine kinda mid game and with decent EQ.
    People also snap at the class because of the comboing, but its pretty easy.

    Agreed.
    People who talk **** about her mostly because they'd rather play a class that is easy to play right off the bat. Merc takes time and commitment but when you have the right equip, she's pretty strong (especially in bossing).

    Ah thats good to hear since right from lv 1 i was already having more fun with her then most of the other classes....
    the combo system for her... is it hard?? or is it kinda like requires more input vs other classes?


    (being a nub im not sure i can get the funds/know how to gear her up well tbh atm lol)

    the combo system isnt hard, it's more or less the fact that most people just want to spam 1 skill across the map to do their grinding or bossing, anything where they can't do that becomes either "too difficult" for most people or they say that the class has become bad because they can no longer just spam 1 skill.

    It isn't hard, but keeping up combo count, during bosses such as Magnus or Lotus is still a challenge.
    Having to dodge 1hitkills, using Freud's blessing every 25 secs at the start, using Spikes/Unicorn/Lightning for debuffs every 30 secs, just to mention a few things to do meanwhile. Of course, all while not losing dps from Ishtars.

    Also a problem at dream defender, where you have to change maps fast, and therefore don't always have the time to keep combo count up.

    In regards to that, the recent update on KMS is especially exciting.
    "Ring of Ishtar Ishtar’s Ring: damage has been increased from 200% → 220%, now increases the Ignis Roar buff’s duration by 0.1 seconds when an enemy is hit"
    Curious how it's gonna work out.

    Mercedes may have a sharper learning curve when it comes to chaining skills together fluently. One you can link her abilities successfully, she has great control over the battlefield.

    If it's any consolation, Mercedes can get a unicorn mount to move about town in. Royal cheriots are sooooo passé
