The lag is caused by the new Chat Channels. Here's how you temporarily fix it until NX releases an update:

Credit to /u/Loxiona of Reddit

In command prompt with admin privileges enter:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="MaplestoryFix" protocol=TCP dir=out action=block remoteip=8.31.99.133
and press enter. This should work immediately without having to restart maple or your computer. If it doesn't, make sure your firewall is turned on, that you copied the command correctly, and that you are running in an admin command prompt.

To delete the firewall entry when they get around to fixing the lag (in admin command prompt):
netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name=MaplestoryFix
and press enter.

If you use a firewall other than the default Windows Firewall, block outgoing TCP traffic to remote IP address 8.31.99.133

8.31.99.133 is the IP of the buggy Chat Channels that cause the lag.
By blocking this IP, your game won't try to connect to it and you'll have less lags.

I tried commander prompt and it says the command is not found. I am running on Windows XP.
Is there a different way for Windows XP ?

Also, does it work if I go to Firewall Windows?

And if I go to Advanced and going to network connection parameter, a place where I can enter IN and OUT port for the IP. How can I get these datas? I could try get firewall for Avast, but I must pay to get it T.T I have free edition so I can only block virus and malware.

Another solution I read somewhere on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Maplestory/comments/59snj0/lag_fix_for_anyone_lagging/d9b2lri/) is to wait at the server selection screen for a while and log in when the lag disappear.

I confirmed that this works. I logged off delaying character today and left my room to do something. When I came back, no delays in login screen anymore and none even after logging back onto the delaying character.

Though something to note, at least for me, do not join a chat channel or the delay comes back.

The game was entirely unplayable, and this was an immediate fix. Thank you for sharing this information!

Powershell is a more powerful version of the command prompt, which you can download from this Microsoft website https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/968929

It may be able to run the command, but I doubt it. You can also just go straight to Windows Firewall from the control panel and make a new rule that blocks all outgoing traffic to port 8.31.99.133

Whatever you do, don't pay for Avast, its practically malware with how many resources it needs at all times, and its not at all effective.

If you have another firewall program running like Norton Security, you may need to apply it to that firewall instead.
    Settings>Firewall>Traffic Rules>Add>Block>

Direction: Outbound | Connection to another computer
    Protocol: TCP
    IP | Computer Address: 8.31.99.133
