avoid using the teleport at the center of the map to get to the upper platforms... get the 5th job rope skill to get there on 2nd/3rd stages if you don't have any high jump/tp skills
After the fifth try, I got it to log in. Didn't do anything different from before. It just worked, so maybe it was a lag problem or something like that.
Just to add repro-steps:
1. Open the game client
2. Choose america
3. Choose server (broa)
4. Choose channel (I always go to ch.20)
5. Wait at the character screen until data gets downloaded.
