  • [FIXED] Bowmaster's Inhuman Speed passive is broke

    This bug has been fixed as of the Scheduled Game Update on 7/19/2017.
    Bug type: Skill (Bowmaster's new 5th Job Skill introduced in Override: Inhuman Speed)

    Brief bug summary:

    Bowmaster's new 5th job skill introduced in the Override Update, "Inhuman Speed", does not function correctly. The Passive Effect does not activate correctly after two or three activations - the skill animation appears, but it does not fire anything.

    More details:

    After two or three activations of the Passive Effect (which is every 12 attacks while on cooldown, an afterimage is produced for 1 second), more activations of that effect will activate the skill animation, but no arrows are sent out and no damage is done, even though the criteria is met. This bug seems to only mostly occur when repeatedly hitting a single target, such as a boss.

    It does not, and has never occurred in KMS. This appears to be a GMS-exclusive bug.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Summon a single monster that you can beat on for a while, such as a Dojo Dummy or a strong boss monster.
    2. Activate Inhuman Speed.
    3. Hold down Bowmaster's Hurricane skill to attempt to activate Inhuman Speed's Passive Effect.
    4. The Passive Effect activates the first time.
    5. The Passive Effect activates the second time.
    6. The Passive Effect may activate the third time.
    7. Any subsequent attempts after this to activate the Passive Effect will fail. It pretends like it's activating (it shows the skill effect/animation), but it's not actually sending out any arrows at all to do any damage, even though the Passive Effect criteria is met.

    Reproduction Rate: 100%
    Date and time of the incident: After the v186 Override Scheduled Game Update, which implemented this skill.

    Bug update log:

    6/21 - Scheduled Game Update: Update implemented, adding Inhuman Speed as a 5th Job skill for Bowmaster. Inhuman Speed's passive is introduced as bugged, detailed above. Bowmaster is losing out on a large amount of damage. If this bug is not fixed, a later update intending to buff Bowmaster's damage by increasing Inhuman Speed's cooldown, which increases the effectiveness of the passive effect, will have the opposite intended effect on Bowmaster's damage.
    6/21 - Unscheduled Maintenance: No fix attempted. Inhuman Speed's passive is still bugged, not functioning correctly.
    6/22 - Unscheduled Minor Patch: No fix attempted. Inhuman Speed's passive is still bugged, not functioning correctly.
    6/22 - Unscheduled Maintenance: No fix attempted. Inhuman Speed's passive is still bugged, not functioning correctly.

  • [FIXED] MISS incorrectly shown as GUARD on client

    I think this is intentional...
    Like:
    The enemy attacks you and you successfully guard. You would see GUARD on your screen.
    While your friend, not being the one that guarded, would see MISS because the enemy missed you while attacking.
    You also see MISS when you attack an enemy and they successfully guard themselves.

    It's like telling a story from different perspectives.
    That's an interesting approach to it, but that doesn't really work, because you're never "guarding". Unless if you're telling me that GMS got skills that have Dodge Chances like Evasion Boost and Shadow Meld wrong and should be rename "Dodge Chance" to "Guard Chance"?

    In KMS, it's not bugged like this. Some videos from KMS:

    In these KMS videos, clearly the person is playing by themselves and when they evade monsters, it shows MISS correctly. However, in GMS, it always incorrectly shows GUARD instead of MISS for some random reason. That should be reserved for blocking attacks when you have a very specific skills active that block attacks such as Bishop's Holy Shell and maybe some of Paladin's skills.

    Heck, even in the 5th job V showcase, it's all over the place, with the correct MISS animation showing up correctly as MISS sometimes (e.g. during Bowmaster's part) and showing up incorrectly as GUARD (e.g. during Luminous' part). See this imgur album. However, in the live server, it always displays wrongly as GUARD.

    It wasn't always bugged in GMS, though. If I remember correctly, this bug originated from the Mark of Honor update that introduced Kanna to GMS a long while ago.


    tl;dr

    In GMS, the MISS graphic is bugged and incorrectly displays the GUARD graphic instead.
