Nexon does read player feedback, and take it into account in their decision-making.
However, they have other considerations as well. I wish they'd be more open ("transparency and … (more)communication") about those other considerations, but what it all boils down to at the bottom line is money. Nexon is a company, and its decisions are primarily driven by what they think will bring the best return for investment.
Knowing what players like and don't like, want or don't want, is important for this assessment of what will bring profit, which is why they (and every other company) do listen. But "listening" doesn't mean "obeying".
So yes, you are right that every player must decide whether to play the game as it is or find something more fun to do.
But, if you do decide to keep playing, please don't stop voicing your opinions. They are being read. (less)
Burning only covers leveling up to 150.
That is such a tiny part of the game.
At 150 you don't yet have all your skills, you are still blocked from many areas of the world, and you can't … (more)challenge most bosses. If you Burn to 150 you also get there too fast to experience much of the lower-level content available to you, or find any interesting gear.
Everybody has their own way of enjoying Maplestory. Some people enjoy leveling as high as they can get; some enjoy getting stronger and challenging tougher bosses; some like to explore and quest; some like to customize their characters; some enjoy merching to get rich as possible; some do all events religiously; some just socialize.
But if the only part of Maplestory you enjoy is leveling new characters 1-150, and even that is only tolerable to you at triple speed, then maybe this just isn't a game for you to play regularly or often. Even if we had continuous Burning, you'd just run out of character slots or get bored of seeing the same maps over and over on different characters. (less)
Non-reboot doesn't need it. You have the option of buying them from the auction house or making a new character for the specific purpose of reacquiring an earring or ring that you've blown up. Reboot, on the other hand, has no choice but to suck it up and deal if they blow up a superior ring or earring.
Why should regular servers have to go through the hassle of a) redoing those excrtiatingly long quests and getting carried to kill Gollux or b) forking over billions of mesos to buy replacements ? There is absolutely no reason why the shop shouldn't restock weekly/monthly, especially when gear progression is centered around a system that destroys your equipment.
There is absolutely no reason?
Tell that to the people whose main source of meso income is going through said excruciating quest and selling the ring and earring to those who'd rather pay than do it themselves.
Allowing the shop to restock will change the economy of non-Reboot worlds, so it needs careful consideration. (less)
