I'm fine with going back to PST to appease the masses even though UTC makes more sense for me personally. BUT. There should be more opportunities for Europeans to participate in flag race. All races except one is during night for me, when I need my beauty sleep. Same thing with the notorious Orchid calling quest that falls between 4-6 AM for me depending on the daylight savings. There is a lot of content and quests in the game that have specific time-windows that shut out large chunks of the population when it really doesn't need to be so restricted. Even more so now that we're taking in new European players.
On November 10th, Nexon America will begin to service our European MapleStory players in addition to our existing players around the world.
Keyword being service. Nobody's being serviced if we're just getting the bare minimum. Nobody should have to plan their sleep, or lack thereof, around MapleStory content.
Reset time is fine whenever imo, but time reliant events need to be adjusted or spread out to suit both EU and US players. As it were with the PST time, I was unable to make it to most of the flag races and other events/quests. Now that applies for my american friends instead. There needs to be a middle ground somewhere...
Truthfully, the main reason why I remember the "good old days" to be more social is mostly because there was nothing better to do than to sit in whatever town was most popular at the time and chat up people. Training was excruciatingly slow and near impossible with the KSers and hackers even in popular training maps, end game content was out of reach for an unfunded player like myself, and I was past the PQ level ranges. There was nothing to do besides socialize or make a new character just to do PQs again. And while I am grateful for all the friends I made, I ended up quitting because I hit that wall and so did a lot of my friends.
Now there's a ton of things to do that we didn't have back then. The game has so much more to offer besides being a glorified chatprogram. But I do agree that PQs need to become viable again. Don't really see a need for more populated servers until then.
With our new fancy rankings now that EMS have joined us, I would like to revisit the idea of separating Reboot from the regular rankings in a similar way that EMS is separate from GMS. This on the grounds of Reboot having different progression methods and exp rate than regular servers and thus shouldn't have shared Job and Overall ranks.
I know that the community manager brought it up for discussion as a result of the old thread, and I had hoped for this change to be implemented along with the EMS merge since the rankings would be changed to include them. It certainly looks like it'd be possible for Reboot to have their own brackets of overall, job and fame rankings. I guess the point of this thread is to ask for some sort of update on where the internal discussion lead on this.
Hello fellow Europeans and welcome (back) to global maple. Sad to hear about your buddylists and guilds being wiped, truly, but hopefully it won't take too long to rebuild.
