  • Please remove/delete kanna from reboot plz

if anything, to make it a truly "even playing field" on reboot, they should make all the item storages be character only storages instead of account storages, people wouldn't be complaining about being able to trade everything except equipment between the account, and item tradablity wouldn't be a question on reboot, it would also be a change in the spirit of how they intended reboot to be and allow reboot characters to store equipment outside of their inventory.

This would honestly do much more harm than good.

What this would encourage instead is leeching mesos onto your main from a kanna mule, making the barrier to entry into reboot even higher (you'd need another account to farm for you instead of being able to do it from your own account).

People who can already meso farm on their mains would keep getting stronger, and lose all motivation to play anything but their mains, while people trying to start afresh would have no meaningful way to get mesos except by leeching off a kanna farmer. Additionally, people stuck in the middle would most likely just quit playing altogether. This is the complete opposite of an "even playing field." Unless you mean by killing off everyone but the hardcore already established players, which I guess in a way is an even playing field. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The actual answer to "solving" reboot is just adding ways to make substantial amounts of mesos that doesn't scale up with the amount of monsters you can kill. That way you can do it without a Kanna, botters don't benefit, and players can play on their mains. This is either through bossing, questing, or pqs. Nexon will likely never implement such changes, and therefore we're stuck at a tentative solution of kanna farming in order to reach the lategame.

  • REBOOT mid-game equipment guide

Hey guys, I'm just cross-posting a guide I made a while back from reddit.

I just realized that there's probably some people who don't use reddit as a go-to resource for Maplestory. So if you're in reboot and unsure of how to progress after leveling to ~150, check out this guide!

I have another guide in the works pertaining to upgrading your gear possibly coming in April, and will update this guide based on changes/suggestions. So please let me know if there's anything you think would make this better for people using it!

  • Why do players hold paytowin in disdain?

    It's pretty simple.

People don't like it when others can get more than they can. It's the same as real life really. Ostentatious displays of wealth are annoying to people.

It's even more pronounced in Maplestory since the rich can't hide away from people like in the real world. You see people spending tons of money on cubes and gachapon and style boxes. If you can't afford that, then you feel kind of bad.

It gets worse as you realize that it's not just cosmetics behind a paywall, but power as well. Ordinary players aren't going to be spending thousands of dollars to cube perfect equipment, but when you realize that there are people doing that, it's disheartening.

Basically, it's a combination of envy and disappointment. You know you'll never progress as quickly as the whales, and will never be as strong as them. So you just keep doing what you're doing and get better slowly. Is there anything inherently wrong with pay2win? That's up to you to decide.
