  • Suggestion: remove this category as a forum

So, Nexon will tackle small and easily fixable issues, but will steer clear of the big problems that everyone complains about? Transparent androids? Hide sengoku ghosts? And zero in reboot? What about potable badges, spawn/meso rate, hackers, dark totems, and cluttered maps?

Zero in Reboot is not a "small and easily fixable issue", or it wouldn't have taken five years to happen.

As for the "big problems that everyone complains about", the thing with those is that the player desires conflict with Nexon's vision for the game.
This section of the forums is for players to offer feedback and suggestions, not to issue orders. Nexon is the developer and, after reading and weighing player feedback, they can ultimately do whatever they wish with the game. The players, on the other hand, have the freedom to decide whether to keep playing (and paying) despite unfavorable changes (or lack of favorable changes), or not.
Badges with potential are a classic case of this. Nexon is fully aware that GMS players are not happy about those no longer being available. And they knew it even before they removed Singapore. But they made the decision because they thought it was essential for game balance, or something. And players are still playing, and even jumping on the hype train for new classes (first Pathfinder, then Adele) that will never have a badge with potential.

Regarding spawn/meso rate, Nexon is constantly tackling that, though maybe not in the ways you like. They are repeatedly tweaking Kishin, and have added Fury/Wild totems. In KMS, they've been increasing spawn count in certain maps, patch after patch. They are aware there is a problem, and are trying to solve it, but they don't want to give us what most players seem to want because they're afraid it will make progression too fast, enabling too many players to "finish the game" and quit.

Hackers have been dealt with, pretty effectively, at least for now.

I don't know what the story is with Dark Lords of Darkness. They tried to skip it in 2018, saying "we had too many other new events for Halloween so there was no room for it". Players protested loudly (on these forums, as well as reddit and Discord), and Nexon heeded the feedback (yes, it happens!) and brought the event back in February of 2019, in addition to running it normally for Halloween 2019. This year's Halloween patch doesn't seem overloaded, so that excuse for skipping Dark Lords of Darkness again doesn't hold. I strongly encourage players to protest again. Hopefully the protest will be effective again.

For cluttered maps, the KMS spawn increases in less-popular maps are intended to deal with it. KMS worlds are considerably more crowded than ours, so you can be sure Nexon is hearing complaints about the best maps being highly contested from many sources. Unfortunately, as long as the game isn't all identical maps, there will always be a "best spot" and there will never be enough instances of it for everyone. At least, not at a cost that's worth it to the publisher.

Anyway, back to the point of the thread: This section of the forums is not useless. Don't expect anything you say to be implemented in the game, immediately or at all. But also don't give up on saying what you think. It does have an effect.

LOL Addressing the spawn/meso rate? Come on! Fury/wild totem is a utter joke compared to Frenzy, and same goes for kishin.. I think by 'addressing the spawn rate', the people want an option where they don't have to buy an item for > $10,000 USD on the black market to make the mob-hunting part of the game bearable. Seriously, if you are level 240+ using a wild totem, people are laughing at you. Alternatively, buying frenzy service means the leveling aspect of the game is contingent on someone with Frenzy totem being online and willing to sell it as a service. How has this been going on for so many years? They've made many tweaks to kishin and fury totem (as you mentioned) yet this is still what is happening in actuality.

*Also* It taking 5 years to implement Zero into Reboot isn't an indication of how hard it is for them to do these things... That timeline for that feature inclusion doesn't seem right.

Im sour and dont have a voice so no Keep it the same
I'm curious riza, can you read?

You are obviously insulting anyone with a differing opinion than yours in an attempt (although probably no a conscious one) to load the voting to match in your desired opinion

I can adjust it if you want so we can make it a lil more fair but thanks for your input as a community member I will change it for you :D

I edit this but yea from what I seen I cant fix poll names so I mean just do yes or no sorry for not being able to change it :(

Isn't choosing 'im sour and don't have a voice' contradictory as you are using your opinion to choose this option, ultimately demonstrating you have a voice in this subject matter? To the previous poster, I find it hard to believe Riza is trying to 'reform' based off of this thread, and in fact find this contrary to reformation and rather rude to anyone who doesn't share the same opinion as Riza based off the poll options... If this is considered a step in a positive direction we must have a really low standard for Riza, and etiquette on this forum.

As for the suggestion, It is a bad idea, weddings between players in general in a video game is a terrible idea. Anecdotally I have met many maplers that are delusional about the 'intimate' relationships they have with other players, thinking they are in a real relationship and that the other person will come and fly over to visit them one day. How are we going to perpetuate such a delusional mindset by allowing them to equate marriage to their relationship? The solution is more friendship rings, and replacing marriages with someone less misleading, like 'partner' rings would be more than suffice. I understand this can be a provocative suggestion/feedback however lets not downplay how committed people are to this game. The other side to that is other aspects of their life will compromise for this game. By allowing them to marry others in the game, they are even further removed from society in the real world. I know most of you aren't keen on the mental health arguments against video games, as you are gamers, but acknowledge the cognitive dissonance, a partner in real life is light years beyond maple marriages in terms of quality, genuineness, physical interaction and intimacy , and maple marriages may act as a barrier for attaining such real life relationships. Therefore, I suggest we just scrap these marriages altogether.

  • Make Hair/Face coupons not give duplicates

Yea, you make a great point, you should never have to go through multiple rounds of RNG royal hairstyles to get the one you want, worse-case scenario it should just be the last one out of the batch you get. But people like Tsunderekyu are able to rationalize spending $300 on a royal style, so because Nexon has many customers with this mindset, catering to the sound logic you are providing may be a bad idea.

Although, normal VIP hairstyle coupons were never a thing initially, only after mass complaints about the RNG of random hairstyle coupons, and the inability to get that darn Metrosexual hairstyle, did Wizet/Nexon introduce the VIP ones. So I could see potential modification to this situation being possible. Yet some would argue royal styles were introduced to counter the profit-loss of VIP hairstyle coupons... So I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Also, I am pretty sure the laws and regulations on explicitly stating the odds of something occuring for any betting/gambling in videogames (i.e. getting 1 hairstyle in the royal selection) are not in our favour, whereas they are in other jurisdictions Nexon is in.

The reality is, the casual players looking to save that sort of money in this game are neglected, because so many maplers are caught on the hook of spending substantial amounts of money on this game, it wouldn't make sense (from a business perspective) to listen to your suggestion. Conclusively, my suggestion to you would be to be prepared to spend that sort of money on this game, plus a lot more.

  • We all want a merge

If your comment is unrelated to a merge or alliance, any sort of input about a merge or alliance, any suggestion about a merge or alliance; start a different thread about how much people spend or whatever you want to talk about.

That is why I feel an alliance or merge is unnecessary, i only elaborated because you accused me of generalizing.

    Let me break this down.
-For reasons stated previously, the whales/Nexons moneymakers/Nexons main priority are still spending $1000's on gear and what have you, regardless of the population crisis, and regardless of whether they would prefer a merge. That means Maplestory's profits are still doing OK.
    - Everything else is entirely less important from a business point of view, especially since these profits have withstood the test of time.
-The rest of the players are casual more or less, and these are the people who want a merge/alliance. "Hey I just came back, what happened to this server?" "All my old friends moved to Bera. How do i switch to Bera?" we will not get a merge or alliance from these people, because why on earth would Nexon waste their time and effort into consolidating servers when they aren't making much money off the people who want it the most?
    - This leads us to the situation we are in now. Lots of whales with too much money into their characters, and lots of casual players demanding a merge in vain. The situation is still profitable, so it doesn't matter. We don't need a server merge. Hopefully you're not one of the whales, and you have a better chance of reevaluating spending your free time on a video game, as oppose to a variety of other things (bettering your health, fitness, progressing your career, moving out of your parents house, etc). So yea, no merge or alliance.
