I come back today after a year or so worth of break. I have to say.. I legitimately missed all these unscheduled maintenance/patches.
It's a big reminder as to why I don't spend money on this game anymore.
I definitely feel very disappointed in Nexon's recent actions in firing our community manager who actually loves and legitimately plays Maplestory. To add onto this AND the 10 coin limit per day on Santa Boxes, they also nerfed the Santa Box drop rate. I used a big spider before in DIPQ and gained at least 70+ santa boxes per dipq, sometimes 100. Now? I barely scrap by with 30-45 boxes. Your results may vary.
@GameChanger I disagree with the 30 coin cap. Given the amount of things in the shop and the cost, it's very unfair to have 30 coins from v chests + 30 coins from santa box. The santa box should be capped at 120-150 coins as a lot of people want to grab the Vengeful Ring PLUS other goodies too. Then there's the second season of the shop with the Sylph Rings and the Master SS Ring. Imagine the prices on those and whether we can get them.
I believe that obtaining coins should fairly distribute towards 50% gearing up and 50% cosmetics/fun. Not like "There are 100 items! But you can pick only 5" philosophy that Nexon has been doing. Besides that, they've been forcing us to bust our booty trying to get the coins. People play on more than one character or cannot dedicate half a day. I feel like Nexon is trying to sabotage themselves for some reason.
I believe it appears to be impossible to even reach the 1500 cakes as we can only do 72 cakes a day x 20 days (19 for most as they missed that one day due to UTC). 1440 cakes can be made.. This is a very poorly planned event.
1. Buff drop rate to be equivalent as shimmering stars (Crown stack). 2. Lower the needed 1500 cakes for the 40 coins or extend the event by another week or two.
• What are your favorite parts of MapleStory’s last few content updates (For example: QoL changes, class rebalancing, Haunted Mansion, Secret Stories, Afterlands or MMF)? Pass. I haven't really tried any new content besides Haunted Mansion. So I can't give any answer here.
• Do you enjoy story-driven content like Heroes of Maple and Secret Stories? If so, what are your thoughts on our newest story content? I enjoy story-driven content and have tried my hand on Heroes of Maple. I think there should be an option to team up with others but also offer the solo option for those who prefer it. Maybe give greater rewards for being cooperative?
• To you as a player, what is MapleStory’s biggest draw? Being able to take on content like Tower of Oz.
• Does the localization of recent content fall short of, meet, or exceed those expectations? It falls short.
• What could we have handled better? 1. Optimize the game. Less lag, remove content that should have been removed, and allow other players who were NOT able to play it before, to be able to play it again.
2. Better customer support. I was banned because I died way too fast (thanks to the 1-day respawn token). I was looked at as guilty and lost NX that I used to buy passes for Sengoku High and bypass keys.
3. Pan out events so it does NOT clutter up. Way too many events right now. Lords of darkness, crown stacking, afterlands, secret stories, RPS Zakum, moon bunnies, etc. Plus the overlap of Gauntlet and Moon Bunnies is just.. poorly done.
4. Make events like RPS Zakum and Moon Bunnies NOT a chore. In order to max out on coins, we'd have to ideally participate as much as possible for 4-5 hours of the moon bunny pop-ups. These events are more chore than fun. I don't want to wait around for 4-5 hours to max out and get as much coins as possible while constantly interrupting my grinding, FMing, etc. Increase rewards, decrease maximum entries.
I feel that Nexon has been out of touch with the player base for a long time. You guys do listen to us (but rarely).
I hate to say it but the drop rate is unfairly low. Took me an hour to complete the 100 honey rice cake twice. Way too much time needed to complete the rice cakes for that 30+ or so coins.
We're already spread thin with all of these ongoing events such as RPS, Gauntlet, Crown Stacking, Lords of Darkness, etc. The onslaught of events are making me feel burnt out and think that this is more of a chore at this point.
Edit: Also the unfair timers for the moon bunny pop-up events should be fixed. Sometimes the starting timer is way too short and a lot of people seem to miss it.
