According to StackOverflow, the issue is with file permissions.

Try running the Nexon Launcher as an administrator, or changing the permissions of the file located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Nexon\Nexon Launcher\bin\nexon_client\resources\app.asar.unpacked

If the game is going all black but still running, that sounds like a memory leak.
You should perform a full shutdown of your computer:

I've killed plenty of elite monsters prior to the update and didn't see any cubic blades. I also killed my 4th one an hour ago and got a chaos cubic.
It wasn't nerfed the last 20 times people claimed it was nerfed, I don't see it likely being nerfed now.

You're unlucky, give it some time and you'll be getting cubics again.

I have not encountered anything of the sort recently, however I vaguely recall seeing it happen before.

Closing your launcher (by right-clicking the icon on your system tray and pressing exit) or restarting your computer should likely resolve the issue.

The Spiegelmann's Art event was bugged and ended earlier than expected.

There should have been several 150-coin compensation vouchers distributed through the gift box. I personally do not have any more information beyond this.
