i remember it became quite a big problem to the point where someone made a meme about it. I would bring up old forum posts but you know...Catooolooo wrote: »iirc the jumping mushroom was just as bad as the loading issue we have going right now, as for many players it just caused maple to crash if the game didn't load before it timed out.
I don't remember it having a timeout at all. It could take a long time, especially on older and weaker computers, but I don't remember a timeout as such. Even if there was one, it could be increased if necessary. It certainly didn't affect anywhere near as many players as are having launch issues now.
the nexon launcher is garbage and buggy as all hell though (at least for maple), I'd rather not use it to update/ launch maple. it's way too inconsistent on working properly and updating the game properly.Aggraphine wrote: »TL;DR: "I don't like change, so I'm going to lash out over it"
The launcher's come a long way. There are still issues, but if they start focusing mostly on it instead of having to worry about people who direct-launch the game, then I see no reason to think they won't have those issues sorted in short order. At least it doesn't download the entire game again if you try to launch the game while the servers are down anymore. And any remaining issues it has at this point aren't so bad that simply restarting it or, rarely, your entire computer won't resolve them.
