The best kind of promotion is word of mouth imo. If Nexon can improve the way GMS is handled in general, it should get more popular all around.
This includes in Europe as well. The game is going in a good direction I feel, but the way GMS specifically is handled needs improvement.
If we want to focus on promotion now rather than after improvement, we can still use word of mouth via youtube/streamers.
MapleStory is a bit of a hard sell on streaming, so I think the best way they can promote the game is to actually play it themselves.
They'll have one of if not the biggest following (For Maple) on streaming platforms, so they should grab 6 team members from NA Nexon and just play the game in a party.
It doesn't have to be about the game itself, but rather around people just hanging out and socializing. Any game is better with friends, MMOs are designed for it.
This should help not only advertise the game itself, but improve moral of employees within the company as they'll not only have fun playing the game, but get a chance to interact with the game itself that they're working to upkeep.
Bonus points: It helps kills this horrid SoloStory that both Nexon and Players have created for themselves. (less)
Kishin and removed Frenzy Totem from Marvel Machine and Philosopher Books.
Do you really think they want us to have better access to spawn enhancements?
Regardless of what Nexon wants, players should still voice opinions even if they're unlikely to happen. (less)
it has been said in the past, UTC is not and will never be a globe concept for time, that is impossible for Earth, as it will always be inconvenient for someone and right now it is inconvenient for most of the players that play the game. A lot of stuff is not 24 hours, and used to match up with when people the Americas go to work, right now with the UTC people actually almost miss a lot of events. So having a US Time Zone for the US, Canada and all makes sense as this is where most of the people come from.
Coordinated Universal Time (or UTC) is the primary time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time
You still get 24 hours to do whatever. It doesn't matter what time the reset is at. You need to change your mindset.
If you play MapleStory for 3 hours and the reset happens during the first hour.
You play MapleStory another 3 hours the next day and the reset happens in the first hour again.
You still got 3 hours on each day. If your schedule is changing on the day to day, that's not Nexon's fault.
If the reset time is changed, don't you think that'll inconvenience people as well?
Regardless of whatever time the reset happens at, if your schedule doesn't change, you get the same amount of time each day.
If your schedule does change, that is not Nexon's fault.(less)
UTC is best though. Honestly this is one concept that globalization has right on every level.
Why do time zones even need to exist at all?
Does the sun care if it comes up at 3PM or 6AM? … (more)Does your body? (Hint: No, it doesn't.)
Time zones and DST change absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
As plenty of people have mentioned in the past, the reset time doesn't matter either.
No matter if it changes at Midnight PST or Midnight UTC, you still get a full 24 hours to do whatever. (less)
As Wonderguy said, try the game for yourself. Just don't spend any money on the game until you've given it a fair chance.
I've asked plenty of people to play who drop in 10~50 dollars only … (more)to quit a week later.
Play a few characters up to 120 or so, long enough to unlock legion and a few link skills.
Once you've done that you make a better decision for yourself.
I personally think the story alone makes the game worth playing, but only if you care for that kind of thing.
While you could play a single player game with a top of the line story, those don't last as long as an MMO does.
I prefer the extremely slow story model for MapleStory as it allows you to develop better attachment to things.
Make sure to read what Rexaar had to say as well. I would ignore the "nah" and "yeah" posts that didn't give legitimate reasons.
There are plenty of reasons to play or not to play the game. But it's best if they're actually explained to you. (less)
