So let me get this straight, you want them to ban more than an average of 200+ people a day?
Nexon is doing far from nothing. Stop pretending they're just sitting on their asses all day without doing anything.
Trust me a million to billion dollar company telling you they can't resolve a hacker issue is not realistic
I didn't realize you ran a multi-billion dollar company, Riza. But it's like you said.
Also, hackers will always hack no matter what Nexon knows this.
You do what you can, you damage control. Nexon America can only do so much since they don't develop themselves.
Banning 200+ accounts on a daily basis is pretty good for a division that is bleeding money.
Especially since it seems Nexon feeds off those mesos sellers and hackers since they hardly show they care much anymore as they did in the beginning of the game.
There was a huge spree of hackers "in the beginning of the game" as well. It was far worse than what we have now.
Who else remembers hackers being able to spawn server sided platforms for mobs to walk on?
Or fly up into the sky where you couldn't even report them properly?
Nexon stomped them out after awhile, but it did take awhile. We're just going through it again and people are reacting to it in the same way. (less)
right-clicking. That will, indeed, be coming up in an update very soon. I don't remember if it was the Pathfinder update that we are getting next, or the one afterwards, but within a few months we'll have it.
We run about one patch season behind KMS (6 months) so whatever they got for winter/summer, we usually get for summer/winter, respectively.
If you don't see it after 6 or so months, then it might be time to start poking Nexon. Just pay attention to the patch dates for KMS.
With GMS being more in line with KMS as of late, you can almost be sure we get anything new they add, over here. (less)
Weekly may be a better option for catching bugs, clearing server side memory leaks, the like.
However weekly resets might also place extra strain/costs on a company that is already … (more)bleeding money.
Nexon knows more about what is going on and has a better view of what is best for Maple in this regard imo.
While I personally think weekly resets are ultimately better, there may be unseen factors which prevent Nexon from doing so. (less)
guides are most of the time perfectly usable in my opinion, at least while levelling a new character. However, you are absolutely right about the ad issue. Even with ad block, there can sometimes be weird pop-under ads, so adding the site to your browser's JavaScript blacklist is recommended. If you are using Google Chrome the blacklisting can be done from chrome://settings/content/javascript. However, if you find another site with as complete skill build information, I'd recommend using that instead..
The guides are nice for new characters, sure. The only time I'd use it is to make sure it's not one of those characters that doesn't get enough SP to max all pre-4th job skills.
Other than that, due to the scummy ad practice, I'd avoid like the plague.
One source I like to send new people to is KyoWantsCute's "So you wanna be a class" series.
He rambles on sometimes due to not having a script in advance, but he covers all the skills (usually) and also tries to explain any class mechanics to the best of his ability.
The videos can run a bit long, so I'd only watch them if you're unsure on a class. (less)
Good post Riza. Now can you do it again without the anti-Reboot rhetoric?… (more)
It's fine if you dislike reboot, but don't try to pretend normal servers aren't just as bad. You even admit it yourself.
Thanks for learning how to format. I can actually read these posts now. (less)
