I personally think the game is worth playing. I'm extremely involved in the story and love every time I get a quest which deals with the main plot.
However there are some glaring issues … (more)with the game that can't be denied.
The population is extremely low, or it seems that way, because not many players are social outside of their own guilds.
Many people complain about grind. Some claiming it is too hard, some saying that it is too easy. It seems like as far as grind goes it's either love hate or more hate.
Some of the classes don't mob as well as others, so that could be a major factor.
You most likely won't be able to find a party if you want one, since nobody really does that. (Bring your own friends into the game with you)
Characters haven't really changed much, there have been some content removals that a lot of Reboot players weren't too happy about.
The game is a major time sink and you'll never really "be finished" with the game. There is always room for your character to grow.
"End Game" is really just wherever you decide to stop after hitting 250. You can potentially hit 250 on 40 characters for max legion, for example.
The level cap is soon to increase to 275, as well.
In the end, I think it's a great game to play provided you bring your own friends, or get into a social guild.
If you're playing it solo, I hope you really like the story or the grind. (less)
Monster Exploration, King's Castle (Von Leon area) dailies, Mu Lung Dojo (I think, not sure), Legion Coin Shop, a few other odd places.
But by far (imo) the easiest way is to kill elite … (more)bosses. (The boxes can drop them.)
Or go into bounty portals. (The bags drop them)
I usually end up with a few epots each day just from grinding. (less)
The problem is probably that in the korean version they use a unisex honorific or title, which commonly get mistranslated as one or the other.
A classic example of this is the Metroid (NES)… (more) manual, where they translate Samus as "He" rather than "They".
This seems more like a suggestion, but I'd support a rewrite for all "he/him/his" to be rewritten to "them/they/their", it makes more sense and it gives a greater sense of mystery to the identity of Kao. (less)
relevant. none of these classes are losing anywhere close to 70% final damage that marksman loses when attacking up close.
You're looking at the glass half empty. You don't "lose 70%" for being up close, you "gain 70%" for being far away.
My examples are relevant because if they don't use their quirks, they "lose" a ton of damage, just like if marksman doesn't use it, they do too.
F/P for example, loses 125% final damage on myst eruption if they don't stack DoT first, that's far worse than 70%.
Consider the fact that Infinity also requires time to build up your damage. When infinity is up, you can easily gain twice your range.
However it has a 3 minute cooldown. If Marksman wants that 70% damage, all he has to do is move.
Explorer mages don't have that luxury. (less)
Every jobs has pros and cons, if you're going to comment about the cons of the class you main, go do research about all the other jobs.
A thousand times this.
F/P Mage requires you to place 5+ DoT stacks on an enemy before you can get your full damage from Myst Eruption, one of your main bossing skills.
Ice/Lightning has to make sure IceStacks are on the enemy for max damage.
Mihile has to have 5 stacks of royal guard.
Mechanic requires you to summon as many robots as you possibly can.
Plenty of classes have similar abilities to Marksman where they lose damage if not used correctly.
Every class has a weird quirk about them that you need to learn.
If you don't learn it, you lose out on a ton of damage.
Marksman is no exception. (less)
