That's why it's interesting. What would happen if the GMs were attacked by an enemy and rendered powerless? Would the Maplers defend their own game from destruction?
I had an idea involving ghoulish monsters attacking Nexon HQ and the Maplers having to cross into the real world to save the Nexon HQ building and GMs as well as the orbiting broadcast satellite from a H.P. Lovecraft inspired threat before MapleStory is pulled offline.
Well with the amount of downtime we're getting the EXP issue is kinda pointless. If they brought the game back up as-is, it'd be considered compensation.
We get something nice, like "Bank Error In Your Favor" EXP gains, and someone complains and it's taken away.
A few hours later, people are complaining about downtimes and we get the same EXP gains as compensation.
The point is, regardless of compensation or glitch, nobody is going to be happy with anything either way because some troll is goign to say "That's not fair, I'm going to complain so that everyone suffers."
This is why we can't have nice things.
Well since the game is down and might be till tomorrow, which screws the event completely, I'm going to go do some retro gaming. Might actually get some progress in Final Fantasy 4 finally.
Well with all the maintenance cycles going on and downtimes extending to infinity, the EXP buffs are kinda paltry at this point. Adding up lost play time, you're going to break even in gains versus downtime.
