Just because it's common sense to you doesn't make it common sense to everyone.
About Me
MapleStory enthusiast, Pre-BB player, and Dual Blade.
  • i really shouldnt be having a problem at all but..

I've looked at multiple types of PCs that had various issues with Maple. At the end of the day it's generally the fault of the game and not the computer.

There are some rare scenarios where an installation is corrupted or something is required but we generally don't have a decent customer support to even tackle those issues. I've said once that if they don't take down the smaller issues how will they bother to work on the major ones if it ever arises?

We can report all sorts of problems but at the end of the day Nexon is the only one that can fix the game. They're the ones in charge of maintaining this dinosaur. If a flagship game like this goes down the drain that will hurt their image at a considerable level, but to most with little to no surprise seeing the path that they're taking for the short-term money making greed.

Even several NX spenders are unhappy about the quality of service such as Royals, weekly sales, or even lack of compensation or extension of hired merchant shops because of channel crashes and numerous of unscheduled maintenance or just the "maintained" game in general.

For the better interest of both the community player-base and company I wish there would be more communication and visible action to not only fix the game, but make it better. It's a win-win scenario hands down in the long run. The fact we have hackers rampant getting to Level 250 without anyone stopping them due to the sheer unthinkable numbers and real players legitimately unable to play the game due to a plague of errors isn't that enough proof to say that the game is dying and something needs to be done?

Big things start with small tasks. One by one doesn't equal to success but it becomes one step closer. That's how people don't get overwhelmed by issues and if they do, it can be done by cutting things down one by one.

If Nexon doesn't come down to be transparent and interactive with the community treating us like human beings and getting the work done, how can we the players ever treat them seriously as mature gaming publisher even beforehand, "a worldwide leader in online games", or ,"The Best in Online Games"?

  • I miss the 2 exp & drop weekends :c

@bumbertyr - I sincerely want to know what you know about that, with the why and how the "starting up" is the root of the 2x lag issue. I was always under the impression that it was due to too much player activity at once overloading their server capability.

ask @Its2sharp4u he experienced it too. the moment 2x "turned on" the lag would practically double.

It's hard to prove it when 2x EXP/DROP hasn't happen anymore for the past 2 weekends and the fact everyone may not experience the same issues. But from memory when I was in the middle of killing mobs and the transitions from before 2x to after 2x gave me the results of "the moment 2x "turned on" the lag would practically double".

  • Is anyone else crashing a lot?

Been using this method to get passed login screen which reduces my crashing to 1/4th of the time:

When I get into in-game I start jumping around because for some odd-reason if I stand still right after login I'll crash.

In terms of game-play I manage to crash or get sent back to login screen there's no real way to prevent it. There's just too many factors and all sort of errors and bugs that we probably don't know about how it happens which is why it's so hard to report with ignorant customer support across the board which will only direct you to it being your fault and to troubleshoot at the most basic level which obviously doesn't help. Stability for the client and servers have gone down the drain over the years.

We shouldn't have so much different crashing issues co-existing and having to rely on monstrous specs for something as the Event Hall (more like slideshow hell). The amount of crap dedicated players have to endure is no wonder why the population is at an all-time low and will continue to hitting the lowest records possible.

The way the V Patch was handled just utterly destroyed any sort of comeback of new/returning players as a whole for a long time due to how badly the servers could handle the extra load. Various ninja nerfs such as Shining Santa Boxes, and the Choco Buff! doesn't really help the situation. Nor does it help to only take the suggestion to nerf Choco Buff! yet not add one single other thing of the hundreds if not thousands of other ideas. Maybe hundred thousands if included the deleted old forums which is probably inaccessible and a true graveyard.

Combined with all sorts of laggy functions such as pick-up or having various counter quests active like Hasty Hunting with Attendance and Dailies becoming another slideshow hell scenario.

Someone can just set up a group of bots to completely lock down a map rendering accessibility useless. And instead we get legitimate people to get disconnected if not banned for "hack reason".

It's quite sad how poorly maintained this game is and how many times this has to be pointed out. It's a disgusting mess that no new or returning player would generally want to come back to. The game is great if not alright. The publisher however doesn't even do much for the players. It's all about assuming that they know what's better for the community, but in reality they probably don't know the difference between MP and PP.

It's honestly not our fault when we can't diagnose such a complex problem, and what's even more sad that's not our job. Running a flagship game to the ground isn't going to help in the long run, but I guess care in the world doesn't matter when client stability is becoming less existent if not already non-existent.

I see! I'm glad you are enjoying it :>

    For me however.......

I don't seem to be enjoying the dailies mainly because I see them as chores just to progress through the game.

I like having to progress through the game! It's just a boring progress I guess :s
I think the problem is the lack in variety in upgrading and how to get in such a position.

In Reboot, mesos farming is the only way either through killing mobs or bossing.

In other servers it requires interaction with other players.

There are good events and content in order to get you to where you need to go. Some examples are the Mu Lung Dojo Shop for Epic Potential Scrolls or Gollux.

But sometimes I feel like a small margin of progress should get you somewhere else. I find it bizarre that getting to Level 200 is just a small stepping stone and the main factors are damage range. There's a giant imbalance to serve the gaps between Normal and Chaos/Hard Bosses.

I mean I played through with sheer will but this is one of the many reasons why many of my real life friends wouldn't play this game. The game progression in this game is too linear in some forms or too complex in others. What took me to accomplish soloing Normal Vellum versus Chaos Vellum can be measured in years which may sound pretty pathetic to some merchants but to average or starting players they would never invest such time into the game if the progression is so wack.

The only dailies that I think are the best is Arcane River. That's something they've done right, but the content is so inaccessible due to the sheer amount of damage you need in order to part-take in it along with 5th job.
