You got it backwards. This isn't because of "European slang."
The dictionary definition of the word has to do with, ahem, adult activities.
The slang meaning, of showy or flashy, is innocent.

Although we do have "pimp stick" "pimp chalice" and "pimp chair" in the game (according to the Owl of Minerva, anyway), so it's a bit hypocritical of Nexon to suddenly decide the word is inappropriate.

I don't agree that English should be the sole enforced language used on the forums. There will be people who don't speak a lick of English coming when the migration is finished, and it wouldn't be fair to them to be restricted based on the language they speak.

They'll have a hard time playing MapleStory, then, since GMS' sole language is English.

As for the forums, will there be VFMs and Nexon staff who can understand what they say?
Oh wait, how silly of me. 99% of what's posted here in plain English is ignored anyway, nobody'll notice the difference if all non-English posts get no response.

While I don't know if the poster who's thread I was referencing is still around, I really liked the analogy. I am capable of being aware of other players "sensitivity" but I shan't pass up well thought out comparisons when I think they contribute something. Just to be on the safe side, I made the clear distinction that coco cola and Old MS are two different things.

The only thing this analogy contributes is the implication that "the change was bad and the company did right to revert it". That's unnecessary in a nostalgia thread, and crosses the line into "legacy server" or even "go back to pre-BB" territory. In my opinion. Of course the mods have their own.

How were we supposed to know it exists?

How many more features are only accessible if you happen to know the exact URL? Do the forums have a functional "search" feature, for example?
