  • New Server during Override update?

    Spdz wrote: »
If it's not Reboot for Europe, I find that pointless. There's too many servers that are empty or not even at full capacity. Adding on that some servers have stability issues time to time. It wouldn't be a smart move.

So your saying it's likely they would implement another reboot server?

Yes. Reboot EU shows a lot of promise because there has been a demand for it. If you've seen Reboot NA it has been a HUGE success in being one of the top servers for it's uniqueness and more play-to-win as opposed to pay-to-win.

The chances of the resources to be used for Reboot EU is quite high and the chances of it being successful are higher. Most of the Non-Reboot servers are either at average or low capacity which can definitely use more people. So it wouldn't make sense to add a Non-Reboot server to North America or Europe.

  • Some Questions and Concerns

I really love how far Maplestory has come and I want to come back and play it. Though I am worried about how well progress would go since I am not the richest of people, but I do put in the work. First some questions since I really need them answered.

-Is it possible to still enjoy the game without having to spend millions on gear? (I do cash in $10~$30 every once in a while but not always and I don't want to spend it all cubing)

    Yes. In Non-Reboot:
    - Do your daily bosses, collect your reward points (make sure to spend them every month because that's when shop resets). You may get Master Craftsman/ Meister Cubes from bosses to cube your gear. Sell the potions and extract the equipment for item crystals. Sell the item crystals in auction house.

    In Reboot:
    - Do your daily bosses, collect your reward points (make sure to spend them every month because that's when shop resets). You may get Master Craftsman/ Meister Cubes from bosses to cube your gear. NPC all equipment and potions. When Double Miracle Time happens buy cubes with mesos you've saved up in Cash Shop (this is a Reboot exclusive) to rank up to Legendary.

-Can you make money to buy cosmetics via in game money instead of real money? (I love customization but last time I checked everything in the store is timed)
This is possible in Non-Reboot. Just save up mesos and do your daily bosses.

In Reboot this isn't possible due to trade being disabled. You will unfortunately have to buy NX for cosmetics.

-I want to main a Demon Avenger what can I do to boost their damage? Last time I checked there was some sort of system that gave unique skills to certain characters and the skill increased as the characters level increase, and also character cards.
Build up on your Link Skills. Some good ones are Demon Slayer, Xenon, Kanna, Luminous, Cannoneer, Phantom.

Character Cards are about to be phased out for Union. I'd highly recommend leveling all sorts of characters to Level 140 - 200 and having at least 140 Star Force on each of them. You may want to look up for more information about this.

-What profession should I pick for my main? ( Before I quit I had mining and another profession that let me get rings and stuff i don't remember the name)
You can now have Herbalism, Mining, and one crafting profession on one character in Non-Reboot. Accessory Crafting is not really good anymore due to all sorts of gears that outclass a majority of them. Decide between Alchemy for Potions which are really good at Master Craftsman/Meister, or Item Crystal extraction. You can also choose Smithing to craft armor, or Cubes if your Master Craftsman/Meister.

In Reboot you're allowed to have every single profession on one character.

-What profession should I pick for my alt(s)? (I heard Demon Slayer/Kanna is great for mobbing so maybe something that involves getting mob drops would be a good profession? I don't really know)
In Non-Reboot that's up to you. It doesn't really matter at the end. Just make sure to choose a proper main one. Other characters as back-up you just need to remember what they are after maxing it out to Level 10. It's not like you're going to maintain all of them at Master Craftsman/Meister and if you do that's generally a huge waste of resources.

In Reboot, refer to the answer I mentioned above: you're allowed to have every single profession on one character.

-What stats should I be focusing on a Demon Avenger + What endgame set should I be trying to get for him/her?
Root Abyss Top/Bottom/Hat/Weapon, Tyrant Cape/Shoes, and Superior Gollux Accessories and all Gollux Rings. There's a lot more items that can be swapped out etc. but that's the general set-up for all characters minus certain exceptions.
    Dangeki wrote: »
-What should I do about gear for my first time leveling?
Gears generally don't matter during leveling up. At best just swap out for better ones when you get the chance. They don't matter until much later into the game.

    -Best way to currently level?
There's a leveling guide here and here. Maple Guide is your best friend too, use that too.

    -How to earn mesos?
    Besides bossing...

In Non-Reboot: Selling item crystals, doing Commerci, Gollux. Here's a guide here.

In Reboot you're kinda out of luck. You'll have to farm mesos if you already did your daily/weekly bosses.

    -What's the best channel to play in that doesn't have a broken economy/is active/leveling isn't a pain/making money isn't toooo much of a hassle ?

You must be referring to a server.

In Reboot there's no economy due to trade being disabled.

I mainly play in Scania and I've survived for a good 12-13 years. I'd suggest to either find some friends or test the waters and find which you like the best. Or wait until someone convinces you on what server to join.

Sorry I don't really have a tl;dr for this I just really need these questions answered since I REALLY want to get in to this game.

P.S. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.

There are no problems. Also this is in the right section no need to worry. The Questions, Tips, and Tricks section got merged into the General MapleStory section.

  • Tints for Tyrants

Maybe instead of tints how about being able to hover over items with a mouse to see what it actually is when it's dropped on the ground?

It'll not only help for Tyrants, but many other look-a-like items such as recipes.

We can also make another change that if the equipment is not for your class it'll have an indicator while it's on the floor.

Oh, on top of that, I used the fragments to buy an 80% and a 60% Unique scroll, both of which failed wondrously.

    Should've used Guardian Scrolls.

On the other hand the Re:Zero Event in it's entirety is absolute garbage. Lackluster Attendance Event for trash rewards. The Re:Zero Cash Shop was a cash grab which wasn't even a guarantee that they would get the item they want, or if they even get a Re:Zero item.

This needs to be noted for future reference and shouldn't happen ever again in the future for players to experience.

Well looks like we aren't getting perm clothes.

Too late to balance the jump quest now, most of us have basically done it. Now we just want perm clothes and we're not getting it.

I can already predict it coming out in a surprise style box a few months from now. Typical nexon hey?

Surprise Style Boxes and Random Boxes are dumb for exclusive events. Just look at how Re:Zero turned out.
