What is worse is that setting others' skills to transparent, doesn't hide their android, pet, and familiar. Even if they set their own skills to transparent, you still see their followers as opaque. So the screen clutter at party bosses is only minimally reduced. Or not at all: if you do want to see your own skills, you also have to see your android, pet, and familiar.
While the thought behind this new transparency may have been good, the implementation doesn't really have the desired results.
That's especially true which is quite ironic as explained in the Tune Up Update Interview. Many Familiars, Pets, and Androids but they only made the main character's transparent and not other players. It would be a nice change to add those too.
The new changes in v188 made familiars and androids transparent. It was suppose to affect pets too but that's bugged at the moment (but that's not the issue). It's a nice change but it's lacking something.
Here is the current Option for Graphics under transparency.
I think many of us would like a toggle option for what we want to be affected by transparency. A few would be Skills, Familiars, Androids, and Pets. Here is an example.
I've heard many have asked if this had been implemented, but so far it hasn't. I would also like this change. EDIT:
I'd like to include this into the suggestion as well.

I am disappointed as well. As a legitimate player I was shamed for being a "potential glitch abuser" in my guild, but the moment Dream Defender came out many of those I knew abused the crap outta it and bragged about it while I haven't touched Dream Defender for that day, even after being fixed. Talking about a double standard.
It goes to show that Nexon has yet again only taken half the action of only closing the loophole. Sure maybe the rankings were reset but people got way more Symbols than they should have and none of them were punished or stripped of their abused rewards. Even the VFMs were cautioning many to not part-take in it, but all those abusers got was a slap on the wrist. A event in the past Hunters Club with unlimited quests which has never made a return also had no punishment.
Yet action was taken onto illegitimate items extremely late which should of been done sooner. This had affected the community as a whole because by that time many items had circulated on the market masked as legitimate items.
Action taken needs to be consistent and on an acceptable amount of time. Many players have complained about hackers throughout many years in MapleStory and they've only grown in bigger numbers. Hackers have been reported by players too, but the actions taken are almost non-existent. Botters that have been reported are most likely still there.
There's also drop rate where the announcement thread for it has been locked. Does that mean that the discussion is over? In fact I believe there has been way too much discussion, and better transparency towards the game. The fact that some things are overlooked or neglected makes the community feel more tainted because of the lack of action that was never taken or too late.
This may be a bit more off-topic but the suggestions are doing too well either. Many of those that get implemented are only half done or lost forever in the void.
These aren't just my words, but fragments from part of the community at times. It's still unacceptable how things are going for MapleStory, which is why I haven't recommended this game to anyone. It has great potential in many areas, but where it's lacking still has a giant void. A legitimate free-to-play core is still being overshadowed by hackers and cheaters constantly abusing the game whether it is real-money-trade, botting, or exploiting.
Since the Crusader Codex hasn't been updated in awhile for sets I had an idea from a user on the official Discord and decided to expand on my idea.
If we integrate Monster Book into Monster Collection we'll need 2 new tabs. Sets, and familiars. On the sides of the tabs there'll be arrows to swap to all 5 tabs.
However for the view all, they'll require adding more monsters to the "View All" so no one loses collections. This will allow easier integration for sets without much tampering. This is also done so now sets can be collected by killing monsters, and not dependent on a Codex Card.
Here is what it currently looks like in Crusader Codex:
Here is what it'll look like in Monster Collection:
We can also add the feature to double click on the collected monster (in person or via collection window) to view it's stats like how we did in Crusader Codex. This will allow more monsters to be obtainable via Monster Collection methods which are much easier to maintain while retaining some functionality of Crusader Codex.
Making set effects will also be easier by just grouping the mobs like they already do for collection.
Familiars will be kept simplified:
The only issue would be transferring over data and re-working the UI. But otherwise afterwards it'll be easy to maintain.
